Welcome Home Bob Tindale!
Rev. Bob Tindale served as a pastor in the United Methodist Church for over 30 years, as well as in a variety of different leadership roles at the district and conference level. During his ministry, dozens of candidates for ordained ministry have gone on to seminary and to serve as clergy themselves, including our pastor here at Seminole Heights, Rev. Matt Horan. In 2016, Bob was chosen by Bishop Ken Carter for the honor of preaching at the Florida Annual Conference Memorial Service, remembering all of the clergy who had passed away in the previous year.
Perhaps one of Bob’s greatest accomplishments was creating a culture at his longest appointment, Killearn United Methodist in Tallahassee, from which over 30 people went to seminary and on to ordained ministry!
A few years before that, however, he spent many a Sunday morning up in our balcony, having grown up right here in Tampa at Seminole Heights United Methodist!
This Sunday, October 1, Bob will come back to his home church and lead us in worship during a combined service at 11am. (There will be no 9:30 service that day.) We hope you’ll join us!
