About Us

History

Seminole Heights United Methodist Church was founded in 1921 with an inaugural
congregation of 110 charter members. By 1925, we had outgrown our first wooden building.
Our present yellow brick church building at the corner of Central and Hanna was completed in
1928, and here we have stood, a pillar of the Seminole Heights community, ever since. In 1960,
the church constructed an education building, which today houses our award-winning Seminole
Heights United Methodist Preschool.

Worship Services and Sunday School

Every Sunday, we worship in person and online at 10:30 am, with in-person Children's Sunday School for kids in K-5th grade at 10:30 am during the school year. Childcare is available for children in Pre-K and younger in our Nursery.

On the last Wednesday of the month, we host a FREE Community Dinner Church. Follow us on social media for Dinner Church dates!

Community

Currently, the church hosts many community groups and events, including Girl Scouts and Boy
Scouts, our annual Pumpkin Patch and Christmas Tree Lot, and civic associations. We partner
with Seminole Heights Elementary School and Memorial Middle School through donations,
mentoring, teacher appreciation and community support. We love being a part of the vibrant
Seminole Heights community, and we invite you to join us!
