The Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church has given their approval for churches to modify their mask use policy.
Based on CDC guidance and the availability of COVID-19 vaccines in our community, starting Sunday, June 13, fully vaccinated people can choose not to wear a mask in our church building. This change does not apply to Seminole Heights United Methodist Preschool.
Someone is considered "fully vaccinated" two weeks after receiving the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine or their only dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
This decision was not made lightly, but the Administrative Committee feels that by maintaining reduced building capacity, social distancing, and requiring masks for those who are not vaccinated or who have not yet been fully vaccinated, we will still maintain safety in our worship space and in other group settings in our church building.
At this time, masks are still required for those who are not vaccinated, including children over age 2.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, as this is an evolving situation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the church at (813) 236-5931 or email us at office@semheights.com.
